Lighting Guides

Use Lighting to Improve Your Workspace

A productive workspace needs lighting that supports concentration and comfort.

Poorly positioned or insufficient lighting can contribute to eye strain, fatigue and difficulty focusing. A well-lit workspace, on the other hand, can help you feel more awake and alert throughout the day.

Start with sufficient ambient light, then add a focused desk or task light for detailed work.

Position the task light carefully to avoid glare on screens and unwanted shadows across the working surface. Where possible, combine artificial lighting with natural daylight.

Lighting should help you work comfortably without making the environment feel clinical or excessively bright.
